Uphams Corner

Upham’s Corner is a bustling  commercial center, once home to the world’s first supermarket and now distinguished by historical landmarks such as the Strand Theatre and the Dorchester North Burying Ground – the second oldest cemetery in the nation. Today, the area attracts a dynamic mix of neighbors in search of historic buildings, affordable homes, and burgeoning business opportunities. We’ll explore the past, present, and future of Uphams Corner through places such as the Victorian Jones Hill neighborhood, the newly-renovated Strand Theatre, and the under-construction Kroc Center.
Easily accessible by Fairmount/Indigo Line and the Red Line.
